Sunset Mesa in Colorado Springs is a community that is located in northeast Colorado Springs.        The neighborhood is southeast of the Flintridge and Vickers intersection, East of Academy.   Many of the houses are next to the Sunset Mesa Open Space area, 78 acres of open space in the middle of the city.

To get to Sunset Mesa from Academy, turn east on Vickers.   Then turn Left  at the Flintridge Intersection.   Then turn right onto Saddle Rock, and you are in Sunset Mesa.
 
There is a voluntary association, called the Sunset Mesa Neighborhood Association, and the dues are $15.00 per year.
 
Single family homes in Sunset Mesa currently range in price from $319,000 to $1,175.000.  There are currently 5 houses for sale, and 2 under contract.

The majority of the houses were built in the 1980’s and 1990’s and range from 3,000 to 5,000 square feet with a 2 car to 3 car garage.    All of the homes were custom built, and most of the homes are Ranches and Raised Ranches, but there are also some 2-storys in the area.   The current average list price for sold homes in 2009 was $505,083 and the average days on market is 396.    Many of the homes have great views of the Front Range and Pikes Peak and they get the extra benefit of enjoying the Open Space of Sunset Mesa

The schools for the area are in District 11, the Grade school is Keller, the middle school is Russell, and the High School is Doherty.
