My pick of the week is in Palmer Lake on 18710 Cloven Hoof Drive.
It includes over 1500 square feet, with 2 bedrooms, 1 baths, 2 car carport
The property is hidden back off of the road; and if it’s seclusion you want this is the property for you. Like many foreclosures I preview, this one hasn’t had much updating done to it; as well as it needs some additional TLC. It reminded me of a tree house; stuck in the woods with trees everyplace.
It’s on a wonderful wooded lot, but you have to drive up a rutted dirt road to find the place. Definitely secluded and hidden. No garage, but the house is built over a carport; so with some construction expertise you could probably enclose the carport and make it a garage.

The kitchen cabinets looked very well constructed, as at one time I’m sure they were very nice.

There was a wood stove on the main level; and the only other heating seems to be baseboard heating. Not sure if you even could put in a central heating system, but an HVAC contractor could tell you your options.

Carpet and windows were pretty worn. You would probably want to replace all of it.

The description in the MLS says: 2 bedroom, 1 bath secluded home on 1 acres flag lot nestled in the pines. Room to expand in unfinished walkout basement. Enjoy the views and wildlife from the redwood deck. Regional Building shows reroof in 2001. Inoperable plumbing in bathroom (missing faucets, shower head, toilet not connected, etc.) It’s priced very attractively for the square footage at less than $100.00 sq. feet.
Houses in the Palmer Lake are currently listed from $119,000 to $2,575,000 and the El Paso County Assessor’s office has it valued at $241,809.
At the current list price of $ $147,500 it may be a deal. There are no other bank-owned homes in Palmer Lake. The are currently 2 short sales in the area.
