For an elegant meal or a pastry and coffee, Marigolds is a great place to meet.

Think you can’t find elegant dining in Colorado Springs? Then come to Marigolds Cafe and Bakery located in a strip mall off of Garden of the Gods and Centennial in Northwest Colorado Springs. Its been in operation for over 15 years and has become an institution here in Colorado Springs.
Enter this charming bistro and be intoxicated by the aromas of all the home-made pastries, including breads, cookies, pies, fresh fruit tarts and my personal favorite, Neapolitans.
They’re open for breakfast, lunch and dinner and of course for afternoon pie and cappuccino.
Breakfast offers fresh fruit, along with regular breakfast items like ham and eggs. You can get a breakfast sandwich on one of their delicious croissants, bagels or baguettes. Of course, nothing is complete unless you try some of their delicious coffee.
Lunch is a hearty sandwich/soup affair…unless you have a large appetite, you might want to try a 1/2 sandwich (which gives you room for a brownie). Curry chicken is my pick of the day, though lots of other items to choose from.
Need a pick-me-up in the afternoon? Come grab a slice of pie and a cappuccino and enjoy the view of Pikes Peak from the patio.
Don’t know what to do about dinner? Well, you call your friends and plan on meeting here. It’s a little more refined affair, but here Marigolds shines. A French and international inspired menu with appetizers including escargot and mussels. There’s probably 5 or 6 different salads to choose from (try the Gorgonzola) and of course, their soup of the day or always French Onion. Main meals include beautifully prepared fish, pork chops, pasta, steak and rotisserie chicken. Not in the mood for something that heavy? They also have a delicious assortment of pastas and pizza. For such a unassuming location you wouldn’t expect a large wine list, but you’d be wrong. Marigold’s has a unique and very hearty wine list to tempt your palate with. What could be more fun than meeting friends after a hard day of work or sightseeing and relaxing with a glass of wine and a perfect meal?
Not in the mood to eat in? Pick up a rotisserie chicken (you’ll never buy grocery store rotisserie chicken again) and take it home.
Menu prices aren’t the cheapest in town, but for the money I’m a fan! The service is also great, as the wait staff is there for you , but they don’t hover or forget you’re there.
So a shout out to Marigold’s. Reservations recommended for dinner.
